The state of California has 10 human trafficking bills pending in the legislature.
On Thursday, May 19, 2011, the state assembly passed a bill to fight commercial sex trafficking of children with a 72 to 0 vote.
AB12, the Abolition of Child Commerce, Exploitation and Sexual Slavery Act (the ACCESS Act) would increase the fine against someone convicted of trafficking children to $25,000.
